Statistics: 900,000 Computer Misuse Offences Last Year

There were approximately 900,000 computer misuse crimes reported between March 2019 and March 2020, according to the Office for National Statistics (England & Wales).

More than 26,000 of this number were fraud related cases.

Almost 13,000 were from social media & email hacks. Which is a 55% increase from the previous year!

Malware and computer viruses have risen by 61% from the previous year, with just short of 7,000 offences.
