Verified Twitter Accounts Hacked

130 twitter accounts, including verified celebrity accounts, have been hacked and used to promote a bitcoin scam!

Accounts include: Barack Obama, Jeff Bezos, Kanye West, Joe Biden, Waren Buffet, Bill Gates, Bitcoin, Uber, and Apple.

Twitter is investigating what happened and sharing most of their findings along the way via their @TwitterSupport page.

So far they have confirmed that some of the accounts were accessed using their password reset feature. Other accounts were accessed using Twitter's internal tools after a social engineering attack was successfully executed.
